So with the end of the year teacher evaluations that are taking place, it is a great time to reflect on the things we did well and the things we could grow on in our classroom set up, instruction and delivery. Although it may be too late to revamp things at this point, there is always the new year that allows us to turn over a new leaf and set the bar a little bit higher than the year before.
As the Department chairperson at my high school, I developed this checklist for classroom considerations for each of the language arts department teachers to use. This quick checklist is meant to fine tune the eyes of the classroom teacher in a way that administrators, visitors and students view what is happening in the room. We all know it is tough to remain objective of our own practice so sometimes a formal checklist like this helps.

Use this checklist to fine tune some of the following components of your art:
- Room Arrangement
- Common Board Configuration (a fancy term for focus wall or daily objectives/targets)
- Data Binder
- Lesson Planning Binder
- Differentiated Instruction
- Student Data Chats
